This is today's list of vital events from my family tree database. I have photos of two of the people who had something happen on January 2. I don't know how often that will happen. Maybe some of my cousins who read my blog will be able to contribute more to add to the posts.
Births
Jacob Sellers, son of John Leonard Sellers and Barbara, was born January 2, 1772 in Hilltown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He is my 1st cousin 6x removed.
Sarah Holsinger, daughter of David Holsinger and Lydia Mack, was born January 2, 1830, possibly in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. She is my 2nd cousin 5x removed through the Macks.
Mary Susan Gaunt, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Gaunt and Elizabeth K. Fraser, was born January 2, 1844, probably in New Jersey. She is my 2nd cousin 3x removed.
Buell/Buela Swain Gaunt, daughter of Walter Clayton Gaunt and Lulu Sherman, was born January 2, 1903, possibly in Indiana. She is my 5th cousin once removed.
Mildred Alice Sellers, daughter of Bertram Lynn Sellers, Sr. and Elizabeth Leatherberry Sundermeier, was born January 2, 1928 in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. She is my aunt and my father's sister.
Marriages
Ralph William Rymer and Catharine Deacon were married on January 2, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Catharine is my 3rd cousin 2x removed through my Fox line.
Deaths
Mary S. Sellers, daughter of Franklin Peter Sellers and Rachel M. Owen, died January 2, 1898 in Brooklyn, New York at about age 25. She is my 1st cousin 3x removed.
Emma Naylor, daughter of James Mason Naylor and Martha Ann Murdock, died January 2, 1972 in New Jersey at the age of 69. She is my 2nd cousin 2x removed on my Gauntt line through the Naylors.
Howard L. Sellers, son of James Byron Sellers and Mary Catherine Bear, died January 2, 1993 in Pinellas County, Florida at the age of 87. He is my 5th cousin 2x removed.
Myra Roslyn Meckler, daughter of Abraham Meckler and Lillyan E. Gordon, died January 2, 1995 in Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa County, Florida at the age of 54. She is my mother.
Genealogy is like a jigsaw puzzle, but you don't have the box top, so you don't know what the picture is supposed to look like.
