Three of the births on this list are relatives of my family members but not of mine. I did mention that I am doing research for extended family, right? The most interesting person on the list is probably David Foote Sellers, who had a U.S. Navy destroyer named for him.
Births
Robert Montgomery Johnson, Jr., son of Robert Montgomery Johnson, Sr. and Catherine Clark Henderson, was born January 27, 1879, probably in Burlington County, New Jersey. He is my 2nd cousin 3x removed through my Fox line.
Walter Eugene Major, son of Clayton Major and Ida May Lippincott, was born January 27, 1892 or 1893, in Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey. He is my 1st cousin 3x removed via the Lippincotts.
Lois Ann Bennett, daughter of Gerald Richard Bennett and Cecile Marie Bowdle, was born January 27, 1930, probably in Ohio. She is my 7th cousin through my Sellers line.
Lyman Ross, son of Charlie Ross and Annie Garber, was born January 27, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is my 3rd cousin once removed through my Meckler line.
Carolyn Sue Jack, daughter of Ivan Robert Jack and Mary Gaunt, was born January 27, 1936. She is my 6th cousin via the Gaunts.
Gregory Stephen Williams, son of Robert Williams and Miriam Gaunt, was born January 27, 1947. He is also my 6th cousin, again via the Gaunts.
Twins Ann and Evelyn Persoff, daughters of Jacob Persoff and Frieda Schneiderman, were born January 27, 1948 in The Bronx, Bronx County, New York. They are my 2nd cousins 2x removed through the Schneidermans.
Charles Allen, son of Raymond Charles Allen and Elizabeth Ray, was born January 27, 1953. He is my 5th cousin once removed via the Gauntts.
Barry Aslunik was born January 27, 1953 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is married to Ethlyn Brozovsky, who is my 2nd cousin once removed on my Gorodetsky line.
Jody Alanna Minuk was born January 27, 1966 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She is my 4th cousin through my Meckler line.
Michele Catherine Bowen was born January 27, 1972 in Mineola, Nassau County, New York. She is the 2nd cousin of my half-sister Laurie Sellers.
Lori Witherow was born January 27, 1974. She is the 2nd cousin once removed of my 1st cousin Albert Lore.
Aaron Marshall Elkins was born January 27, 1993 in Yolo County, California. He is the 1st cousin 2x removed of my aunt Mary McStroul.
Marriages
Henry Mowery and Nora E. Sellers, daughter of Samuel Sellers and Elizabeth Barton, were married on January 27, 1887 in Auglaize County, Ohio. Nora is my 4th cousin 3x removed.
David Logan and Estelle Lottie Sellers, daughter of Milton Henry Sellers and Susan Bach, were married on January 27, 1908. Estelle is my 4th cousin 2x removed.
Victor Bernstein, son of Sam Bernstein and Rose Gordon, and Renee Glass were married on January 27, 1961 in Flushing, Queens County, New York. Victor is my 1st cousin 2x removed and was named after my great-great-grandfather Victor Gordon.
Mark Perry Nasrallan and Jeanne Helen Eckert, daughter of Roy Howard Eckert and Mary Elma Easlick, were marrked on January 27, 1979 in Mount Holly, Burlington County, New Jersey. Jeanne is my 4th cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Easlicks.
Deaths
David Foote Sellers, son of Edwin Elias Sellers and Olive Lay Foote, died January 27, 1949 at the age of 74 in the Naval Hospital at Bethesda, Maryland. He is my 4th cousin 3x removed and was a career Navy man (even though his father was career Army). He achieved the rank of Admiral, and his service including the post of Superintendent at the Naval Academy. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. The USS Sellers, a guided missile destroyer, was named for him.
Irene Elizabeth Allen, daughter of George N. Allen and Ada E. Mason, died January 27, 1976 at the age of 69 in Burlington County, New Jersey. She is my 4th cousin once removed on my Gauntt line.
Eleanor Jernee Thomas died January 27, 2005 at the age of 86 in Medford, Burlington County, New Jersey. She was married to Samuel Naglee Ellis, son of Levi Ellis and Carrie Florence Gauntt, who is my 1st cousin once removed through the Gauntts.
Martha Ann Surran, daughter of William Earl Surran and Martha Ann Naylor, died January 27, 2007. She is my 3rd cousin once removed on my Gauntt line through the Naylors.
